Rachel Mazer is a dynamic solo artist whose unique blend of folk, indie-pop, jazz, and soul has earned her a buzz and a small (very small) but supported following. Following the release of her debut album How Do We Get By (2019), which garnered attention from Paste Magazine, American Songwriter, and multiple Editorial Spotify Playlists, Rachel continued to explore her artistry from multiple angles. While her solo career has always remained a core focus, her skills as a multi-instrumentalist and saxophonist also led her to either perform or record with a diverse range of artists, including Lady Gaga, Kate Hudson, RAYE, Googoosh, Lake Street Dive, Cory Wong, Monica Martin, Vulfpeck, Wasia Project, and more.
Far from being a departure from her solo work, Rachel's time as a side musician in the Los Angeles music scene has enriched her musical experience, allowing her to bring new perspectives and influences into her own projects. As a saxophonist, guitarist, bassist, keys player, and more, she draws from these diverse experiences to inform her songwriting and sound. Now, after a period of focusing on supporting other artists, she is putting the finishing touches on her second album, which showcases her evolution as an artist and the breadth of her musical abilities.
For Rachel, her role as a solo artist and her work as a multi-instrumentalist aren’t separate paths—they are two sides of the same coin, each informing and enriching the other. Her solo music remains at the heart of her creative journey, and her collaborations only deepen her passion and commitment to making music that is uniquely her own.
